Funding CriteriaUpdated Sunday October 21, 2018 by Kitchener Sports Association.
KSA Director Rick Weinstein fields questions for Megan Lloyd, Canadian Champion Baton Twirler at the KSA Dinner held Sept. 20, 2011. Megan was in attendance as the evening's guest speaker and thanked KSA for the travel grant which enabled her to compete at the Nationals in Winnipeg.
Projects that are NOT eligible for funding are:
1. Team sponsorships
2. Contributions to annual operating costs or annual events etc.
Eligibility for Funding:
To be eligible for funding from proceeds of the KSA raffles, (50/50 draw at Kitchener Ranger games and bingos), an applicant must be a charity or a not-for-profit association (group).
Individuals, (our mandate is to assist minor athletes; i.e. under 20 years of age), seeking funding assistance should apply through, and with the backing of, their local sports organization and/or recognized governing body. (KSA does not generally provide funding directly to individuals; payments are processed through the local sports group or governing body.)
Community minor sport organizations need not necessarily be affiliated with the City of Kitchener Community Services Department (formerly Parks & Recreation), but are required to operate programs involving residents of the Cities of Kitchener and/or Waterloo and/or the Townships of Wellesley, Wilmot or Woolwich.
Refer to the list of "affiliated" groups. It is not definitive in terms of dictating eligibility for one of our grants and is continually being updated.(Note that, now that we've expanded our geographical base, other local minor sports groups have been added in response to inquiries.)
If your local not-for-profit group isn't listed please advise for consideration. A reciprocal link on your site would be appreciated. KSA WebAdmin
