Cheque presentations: July 2019

PHOTO: KSA provides a travel grant to the Waterloo Ghosts U-16 Gold Team: The Waterloo Ghosts U-16 Gold team of the Waterloo Minor Girls Softball Association will compete at the 2019 U-16 Girls' Canadian Fastpitch Championship in Calgary AB. The team qualified for the nationals earlier this month. KSA Grants Chair John Thompson presented a cheque for $2,500 to the team at Hillside Park in Waterloo following a fundraising BBQ and a game between the Ghosts and Guelph on Wednesday July 24.
KSA Travel Grants approved in July 2019
Laurel Creek Track Club - $1,400 was approved to help with the expenses of their athletes who qualified to compete at the Canadian National track meet in Montreal (July 25 - 28).
Waterloo Minor Girls Softball Association - $2,500 was approved in support of their U16 team heading off to Calgary to compete at the Nationals (August 13 - 18).
KW Minor Boys Softball Association - $800 was approved in support of their U19 team heading off to Owen Sound to compete at the Nationals (Aug 6 - 11).
Earlier in the month, Adventure4Change received $942 from KSA. Adventure4Change is a local not-for-profit that works extensively with the children, youth and families in the Sunnydale , Albert and High Street communities of Waterloo. To help with their expanding community-based soccer program, KSA provided the funds for the group to purchase necessary equipment. Hopefully it will generate interest in soccer and some future stars for local minor soccer programs.
